November 29: A brand new day!
Published on November 14, 2008
The Thailand Queer Network is celebrating the inaugural National Human Rights Day for Sexual Diversity between 9am and 5pm on November 29. It's at the Lido Cinema in Siam Square and everyone's welcome. The theme is "Towards a Clear Sky".
On the programme are colourful performances and lively discussions about same-sex marriage, LGBT youth and how the titles law applies to transgenders. The infamous Day Freeman will give a talk, there's a seminar on LGBT rights, and award-winners from the Thai Queer Short Films competition will be screened. The day culminates at 4pm in the first Rainbow Umbrella March from the Lido to the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre. All the talks will be in Thai, but non-Thai speakers are welcome to join the march. For the full schedule, go to www.Sapaan.org and click on the Rainbow Umbrella.
