Q: I'm a 25yearold who tries to keep healthy: I exercise, keep my diet balanced and rest as much as possible. But I was recently diagnosed with arrhythmia. Should I be worried?
A: There are many types of cardiac arrhythmia, and every type has its own cause and treatment. In general, we advise people with this ailment to avoid coffee, tea and alcohol. Doctors have to devise specific treatments in consultation with them. For example, AF - atrial fibrillation - can afflict anyone. Fever, stress, dehydration, thyroid disease, bleeding, structural heart disease and lung diseases can provoke it. Such problems can't be properly assessed without an EKG scan, so at any sign of heart palpitations, it's best to see a cardiologist.
