Clever, limited-edition T-shirts by top local labels raise cash to help people dealing with HIV
Be more than chic in your T-shirt - be charitable. Prompted by Bangkok Fashion Society, Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery, leading local fashion houses have come up with shirts to raise money for people living with HIV. Sukahoot and Patcharapan Tangmatitham of Sretsis take a jab at human folly with a drawing of a bird using an umbrella. The shirt's message is that, if even a tiny creature knows about protection, why don't people practise safe sex? The shirt designed by Munchu's Jenphop Veeraporn reads, "Life is just unkind when your love is blind", stressing that ignorance lets the HIV virus spread - so know your partner well. Other participating brands are Issue, Disaya, Greyhound, Kloset, Muung-doo, Playhound, Senada and Theatre. This is a collection of limited-edition designer T-shirts at an affordable price: just Bt800. All proceeds go to the Foundation for Aids Patients. Call (02) 530 9300, extension 16.
