White knight Pavena says she sleuthed the Four Mod nude-video villains. Cops scratch heads

The police say women's rights crusader Pavena Hongsakul has been hoodwinked in her vigilante investigation into the For Mod smut-video scandal.

White knight Pavena, via her foundation, says she's caught the perverts that filmed bubble-gum-pop girlie duo Four Mod in the showers at an upmarket Khon Kaen hotel.

She even trooped some of the "gang" in front of the news media yesterday before turning them over to the police.

The three spilled their story and produced a picture of the man they assert is the mastermind behind the celebrity-porn caper, Piyanant (surname withheld), 22.

They claim he's a former staff member at the Ruen Rom Hotel. He's now a soldier in Yala.

The foundation alleges he borrowed a mobile phone to take the sneak video from two of the three, a chef and a security guard.

Pavena says she, the singers' record label and a journalist have been following leads for more than a month and believe they have their culprits.

But police women-and-children division Chief Wisut Wanichbut says the three are patsies.

"To me, it looks like a soap opera and I pity Pavena for having been fooled by them," says Wisut.

He says their story is bogus and he's not closing the book on the case just yet.

"I'll look at these three but I'm pretty sure people don't just admit to something that's going to land them behind bars.

Sakonrat "Four" Wora-utai, 22, and Kunachaya "Mod" Chairat, 17, were devastated to learn they had been caught on video in the hotel bathroom.

That clip has been posted on the Internet and is being sold as underground porn.

Record label RS says it'll sue for damages.
