Some 3,000 vendors from Bangkok's Klong Toei Market block the entrance to the Port Authority of Thailand yesterday after the authority opened bidding for a contractor to demolish the market and construct commercial buildings.

Protesters want to renew their contracts and keep the market. The blockade caused heavy congestion on the nearby expressway and roads.
