Grammy Tai Hub's four-segment horror anthology "See Phrang" ("4Bia") won the third-place bronze award in the Public's Prizes voting for Best Asian Film at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.
"I'm very glad and felt relief when the audience applauded and greeted us when the film finished", said Yongyooth Thongkongtoon, who directed one of the four shorts in "4Bia". "They were eager to ask questions about the film," said Yongyooth, a veteran film-maker who led the movie's three other directors - Banjong Pisanthanakul, Park-poom Wongpoom and Paween Puritpanya - to Montreal for the screenings. The festival wrapped up on Monday. In all, five Thai films were selected for the prestigious annual genre fest. Along with "4Bia", "Faed" ("Alone"), a horror feature from the duo of Banjong and Parkpoom was showing, as was one more film from Grammy Tai Hub: "Kod" ("Handle Me With Care"). Two other films were from Five Star Production: "Long Khong 2" ("Art of the Devil 3") and "Muay Thai Chaiya". The Fantasia festival is North America's largest featuring fantasy, horror, sci-fi and action films, and is a major destination for distributors looking to pick up genre films for North American release.
