The mystery surrounding the disappearance of martial-arts star Panyom "Jaa" Yeerum has spun out a rumour that he's in financial trouble, but this is nonsense.
The man known internationally as Tony Jaa merely seems invisible because he's working real hard to finish "Ong Bak 2". It's his directorial debut, and it's supposed to premiere in December. Still a lot of kicking and punching to be done apparently. A Sahamongkol Films spokesperson says the actor-director has been sent into deepest Khao Yai to shoot some footage and can't find his way back out of the jungle. Once he's done, they'll send somebody to bring him home for a press conference.
Awards are crap anyway Oscar winners keep their trophies on the mantel over the fireplace, right? Or in a nice display cabinet behind glass? Not Emma Thompson, who won her first Academy Award as best actress in "Howard's End" and another for scripting "Sense and Sensibility". She keeps both of them in her bathroom. We didn't want to ask why.
