Cosmetic castration requested by homosexuals is a "violation of medical ethics" and "criminal", according to two landmark decisions.

The rulings will see plastic surgeons subject to police investigation for the removal of the genitals of many young homosexuals and minors who requested the operation.

The Council of State rules cosmetic castrations by request are unacceptable.

Surgeons who perform the operations will be prosecuted for criminal assault.

The Health Service Support Department rules that gender dysphoria or transsexualism ethically is a psychiatric condition that requires treatment with hormones through endocrine practice.
