Second hand helping hand

The Mirror Foundation is supplying rural students with used computers.

About 70 schools nationwide have submitted requests to the foundation.

"We would like private companies, government organisations or people to donate unneeded computers, even if they are not in working order or some of their parts have been spoiled," says Natthawatt Khongsuksawatt, head of the foundation's Com4child project.

Broken computers will be repaired before being sent upcountry to their new owners.

Natthawatt says he wants to give between 10 and 15 computers to each school. "If anybody wants to help but doesn't have computers to donate, they can donate money to buy spare parts or pay for transport or even volunteer to repair computers every Saturday," he says.
