The packaging for makeup and skincare products these days can be awesome
Alluring glows cascade into the wonder world of cosmetics, adding to the vivid colour palette to aid in your makeover. Shu Uemura has stylishly designed makeup boxes containing glittering eye shadow and sparkly glass tubes filled with juicy lipgloss. The newly appointed international artistic director, Kakuyasu Uchiide, has introduced a collection called Instinct. It's a toast to the autumn and winter of 2008 with glossy, transparent packaging consisted of trifoliate sections slathered with glittering mascara. The front of the package has pretty magenta and rose-coloured butterflies that vanish as soon as the lid is opened. Philosophy's new packaging for its "Supernatural Flawless" SP15 exfoliating cream will boost your confidence with its classical black-and-white-coated tube. It comes with a chit-chat description, saying something like, "We needed a way to trick you into wearing sunblock to help prevent drive-by wrinkles." Laboratory-style test tubes are even showing up with Anne Semonin's "Balancing Intensive Complex", an exfoliating chemical cream. Meanwhile MAC's Heatherette is selling its compact powder in a box decorated with glittering purple and magenta beads to evoke a sizzling party feel. Inspired by the Hello 24-Hour Party People, its lipstick, eye shadow and eye pencil all come in shocking-pink packaging. Jurlique, an organic skincare brand from Australia, has come out with New Beauty from Beauty Introductory Sets, including a foaming cleanser, citrus purifying mist, exfoliating cream, herbal recovery gel and clarifying daycare lotion. All of these are packed in egg-shaped boxes, suggesting the nourishment that the product brings to your skin.
