Asia Books' new outlet offers a large number of books and magazines at bargain prices

Book lovers will now have plenty of space to hang out with their favourite reads thanks to Asia Books, which has opened a bargain book-hunting destination to suit every budget. Located in the book lounge zone of Amarin Plaza in Rajprasong and themed "value and fun", Book Outlet promises to make a difference to everyone's book shopping experience, with more than 150,000 recent releases under one roof.

The shop's recent grand opening brought together a cross section of book lovers from different spheres who were more than happy to browse through the titles in their preferred sections. The Blue Cup coffee corner also did a roaring trade, as thirsty punters wandered in for occasional breaks from their shopping sprees.

Greeting guests at the opening were Asia Books head honchos, MD Phumate Manuphibul and purchasing director Orapin Triamornlert. They were joined by the management of Amarin Ratchaprasong, including chairman Charn Srivikorn, Korakot Srivikorn, Ruangsakde Pinprateep and Fafuen Temboonkiat.

Other guests spotted included celebrities Somtow Sucharitkul, ML Rojanathorn Na Songkhla, Kongpat Sakdapitak, Nawat Kulratanarak, Tawan Saetang, Joe Ninnart Sinchai, Thanaboon Somboon, director of 108 Punna Book Project), Siwabhorn Anothaisintawee, and MD of Business Week (Thailand), Andrew Batt.

Ruangsakde Pinprateep, MD of the Books for Children Foundation, took part in the book auction, which saw bids starting at Bt999 and all the proceeds going to his foundation.
