Published on July 8, 2008

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has graciously allowed 230 photographs she took to be displayed at the opening of the new Bangkok Metropolitan Art and Culture Centre.

Dr Apinan Poshyananda, director-general of the Culture Ministry's Office of Contem-porary Art and Culture, said yesterday the Princess had granted permission for the photographs to be displayed at the "Always Roaming with a Hungry Heart" exhibit at the centre at Pathumwan Intersection from July 29 to August 24.

The photographs were taken in 20 countries over a five-year period. A book featuring all the pictures will be sold at the exhibition.

Want fries with that?

The Public Health Ministry will jail restaurant owners whose menus recommend alcoholic beverages.

Free coupons for alcohol or discounts on cover charges for events or concerts are violations of the alcohol advertising control law, which went into effect in February. In addition, it restricts the sale of alcohol in or near temples, public parks, government offices and schools of any level.

You can report breaches of the law at thaiantialcohol.com or by calling (02) 590 3342 or (02) 590 3032-5.
