A leading manufacturer of professional DJ equipment launches its annual mix-and-mash contest
Aspiring DJs once again have a chance to be heard and win fabulous prizes thanks to the 2008 Denon DJ Championship, which is inviting applications from Thai contestants through to the end of September. "And, for the first time, we'll be sponsoring the winner at the Denon DJ Asia Pacific Championship 2009 in Singapore," says Kittisak Kanchanachayphoom, general manager of Mahajak Development. "These days, many talented DJs can go international. The Denon DJ Asia Pacific Championship has been organised in several countries around the region. "We started out by inviting a DJ from Singapore to spin here. Now, we're sending a Thai DJ to the world stage." The Denon DJ Championship, now in its fifth year, also features a "Rookie of the Year" contest for youngsters and a "Hang Mixy" match for the ladies. "We're partnering with Hang for this 10-hour basic introduction for the girls. After that, we'll evaluate them," says Kittisak. "Thais are as skilled as international DJs, but we don't have the marketing capabilities to make ourselves known. By making our name known at the Singapore championship, we can change that." The winner gets more than Bt600,000 in prizes, including Denon direct drive turntables, media players and controllers.
