Well-trained animals put on an act

Chon Buri's government-run Khao Kheo Zoo has organised the first-ever animal-reality show called the "Journey to the Jungle".

The show involves no human handlers, but features various types of animals performing according to script, says zoo director Suriya Saengphong.

Seals swim and play on stage, while waterfowls walk on paths. In one scene, lions and tigers sniff fake carcasses laced with artificial blood.

Two-year training

Suriya says animals underwent training for two years before the show could be opened to public on June 1. Such shows will also be considered for other government zoos in Thailand at a later stage.

Khao Kheo Zoo is also running another show called "Night Safari", which took 10 years to prepare.
