What dreams may come

I was collecting wood.

The logs were heavy and it was hard to carry them all. I have no idea where. I remembered the whole thing the next morning.

So what was the significance of that dream? I have read that the subconscious deals in hopes and fears. Things that you wish to achieve, aspirations that are yet to be realised, or may never be realised.

Then there are things that maybe you would rather not think about, the so-called dark side of our nature. These seem to relate more to the past than the future - something unresolved that lingers.

Leaving the subconscious to itself, our daily task is to learn how to turn our conscious dreams into reality. But I seem to spend more time helping people to be more realistic about what is achievable, rather than helping them to realise dreams that are atop a distant mountain that is far too difficult to climb.

Maybe this is the key. If you aspire to dreams that have realistic goals, then you will not be frustrated and your subconscious will not have to remind you at night that all is not well.

Of course trying to live without such frustrations may well be a dream in itself.
