If you voted for the Ruam Jai Thai Chat Pattana Party last December, give yourself a pat on the back.
The buy-one-get-one-free deal that has the party's Poonpirom Liptapanlop as energy minister and her husband Suwat as her personal aide is working out great. Suwat is between jobs at the moment, so when Poonpirom flew to Brazil with the boys from PPT Plc to learn about bio-power cars, he happily tagged along. Matichon has a photo of Suwat chauffeuring her around in an FFV - a flex-fuel vehicle. Nothing frivolous about this trip: Thai Airways probably gave Poonpirom the customary free seat for politicians, but Suwat, being an ex-politician, had to pay his own way.
Eye on the bawler Look for Lindsay Davenport to be surging back up the rankings of women's tennis following her birthing break. Son Jagger's a year old now, and mum's gunning for trophies again. The American former No 1 says she doesn't mind if Jagger is in the stands, "But I don't want to see or hear him. I don't want to be out there on the court thinking, 'It's naptime, you've gotta leave!'" Actually, Lindsay, no tennis fan wants to hear a baby getting antsy in the stands either.
