Enjoying work

How many times have you heard people talking about their "dream job"?

In reality, there is no such thing. Consequently, when people succeed in getting their dream job they quickly become unhappy and disappointed.

How much you enjoy being at work can depend on what your expectations are and what kind of outlook you have on life. For example, do you consider your work frustrating and stressful? Or do you think of it as challenging and exciting?

If you feel unhappy at work, then you should ask yourself these questions: Am I learning from what I am doing? Is there a career path for me in the company? Is anything I am doing at work consistent with my personal goals?

If you answer yes to any of the questions, then maybe the problem is with how you think and not with your job. Think about what you enjoy in your office or workplace. Find something positive in every situation. And when things go wrong, ask yourself: "What can I learn from this?"

If you approach your work with a more positive attitude then maybe you'll find yourself closer to your dream job than you thought.
