Feting La Fete

You don't have to be educated overseas, culturally sophisticated or deep-pocketed to fully enjoy the arts," reads a message sent by ingeniously curated arts festivals around the globe, including one right here and now.

The only French words I can speak with an acceptable accent are croissant and je t'aime. And yet I'm having much fun with La Fête's free admission and reasonably priced dance, music, theatre performances, films, visual arts exhibitions and interdisciplinary works almost every evening before heading home for Euro 2008 - and I hope you will go, watch,

listen and enjoy too.
