Driving on Sathorn Road, amid traffic snarls, I saw a taxi-driver make the best attempt at passing a bicycle in the second inner lane, trying not to knock the cyclist off.
Still, the foreign rider was frightened, and when the taxi was caught at a red light, he reached forward and knocked on the window. Neither the driver nor passengers understood what the cyclist said. The episode reminds me how many motorcycles and bicycles are on streets without a special lane for them. Isn't it time to start, particularly in inner-city areas? This would complement the city's plan to promote bicycle use and be safer.
