Could we have prevented the vandalism at Phanom Rung? It is sad and deplorable that people can so easily destroy historical treasures.

Maybe if we are more conscious of how enriching and meaningful these treasures are, then we could be proud and protective of them. We can start by building appreciation among our children so they can see, understand and value the remaining visual remnants of Thailand's beautiful, unique heritage.
