The ice and fire of male-female relations are brought to Bangkok by the world's hottest dancers

It takes two to tango - or one heart and four legs dancing, as the old saying goes. But that's not quite enough for the Friends of the Arts foundation, which in cooperation with the Embassy of Argentina is bringing to Bangkok not two but six highly acclaimed Argentine tango dancers.

 "The Four Seasons Tango Show" presents the latest choreography by one of the world's most revered veteran tango couples - Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo.

The winners of the World Argentine Tango championship in 1999, Ghi and Merlo have wowed audiences worldwide with performances that range from the dramatic to the comic. 

In "The Four Seasons", they're joined by young tango couple Nicolas Cobos and Paula Jean Jean, who were runners-up in 2005's tango World Championships.

And step up Diego Blanco and Ana Padron, renowned for the energetic, innovative style of their New York Tango Dance Company.

Six bodies, 12 legs

Now what do six bodies glued and 12 legs flying have to do with the four seasons? A dip into their promotional materials reveals this: "Just as winter gives way to spring so too can our emotions change. Under the rain, naked bodies are protected against the cold by flowers and birds. A man and a woman seek that intimate connection, and each season offers a unique experience if we know how to live it to the fullest. The tango has all the colours, shades, smells and textures of each season. The tango can transform a man and a woman with just an embrace." Hot stuff!
