The Princess Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre in Taling Chan, Thon Buri, hosts a book launch and talk on "The Mons in Siam: Ethnicity, Roles, and Lessons" from 12.30 to 6.30pm on May 30.
The event kicks off with a performance of Mon music, which will be followed by a merit-making ceremony in support of the victims of Cyclone Nargis. The afternoon continues with the launch of the book "Ong B' Mon Women, Power, and the Bangkok Court" and a discussion led by Sujit Wongthet. Participants will also enjoy traditional dance and music from Sangkhla Buri, Lop Buri, Nonthaburi's Koh Kred, and Samut Prakan's Phra Pradaeng.
