Man City merchandise store promises to be the centre of club activities in Thailand and also connect local fans with those around the world

Located on the 2nd floor of Shinawatra Tower 3 on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, the Manchester City merchandise store will look to lure fans with club items, including shirts, hats, bags and souvenirs.

"We want the store to be a centre and network for all City fans and supporters and for all who are interested in football," says Pinthongta Shinawatra, executive director of Manchester City Thailand, the exclusive agent of the club in this country.

She adds that people can come to chat, exchange ideas and information and enjoy fun events. The store will not only be the centre of all club activities in Thailand but also connect local fans with those around the world.

"The Manchester City store is not just a retail outlet but a gallery to let fans who can't get to the real City of Manchester Stadium enjoy the look and atmosphere," Pinthongta said.

"We will wait and see what the feedback is from our first Manchester City store in Bangkok as well as our first team's performance before looking at expansion," she adds.

Pinthongta says about 70 per cent of products at the store were locally made and are therefore affordable.

Club win Europe spot

City have been awarded a 'Fair Play' place in next season's Uefa Cup, it was announced yesterday.

England received an extra berth in the competition for topping the Europe-wide Fair Play league and although City only finished sixth in the domestic version, all the sides above them had already qualified for European competition in the 2008-09 campaign.

City were left sweating over the spot after captain Richard Dunne was sent off in their final game of the season. But once the final count had been done it was revealed that they had held off Fulham and they will now enter the competition.
