Manchester City yesterday denied rumours that one of their players was robbed after he brought a woman to the hotel.
It was rumoured that on Thursday night a City player took a Thai woman to his room at the Pathumwan Princess hotel and found his belongings stolen in the morning. Panthongtae Shinawatra, son of club owner Thaksin, dismissed the incident as false. "Normally, if there is any incident, it would be reported to me. So far, I'm yet to receive a report on the event. I think it's just a rumour," Panthongtae said.
No charge filed Daily Xpress contacted the Pathumwan police station and received confirmation that no charge has been filed with the police. "We came to know of the alleged incident in the morning after many calls from reporters enquiring about the incident. "We contacted the hotel and they said they had no idea of the issue. I don't know how the rumour spread. I can confirm that no Manchester City player has filed a charge," Police Seg Maj Adisorn Sri-in said. The English club are currently on their post-season Asia tour. They are due to face the Thailand Premier League All-Star team today at the Rajamangala National stadium before leaving for Hong Kong on Tuesday.
