Siam Square's Cup B cafe is a popular meeting place for teens with a date for work or play
Opened two years ago atop Dokya Books in Siam Square, Cup B cafe is a popular place to chill for both the young and the young-at-heart. Small and cosy, with a comfortable ambience, the coffee shop is decorated in pastel shades and fitted out with colourful furniture. Teens attending nearby tutorial schools arrive with their notebook computers to take advantage of the WiFi connection. Some come in groups and chat with their friends, while others sit quietly, heads buried in a book. And don't be surprised if you get a feeling of deja vu when you first step into the cafe: it's often been featured in TV commercials and magazines. Cup B is divided into two zones. Those who want to sink into a sofa or comfortable armchair, enjoy the food or use the wireless Internet will find the seats inside the cafe are the best option. Those more interested in a bird's-eye view of the Square's exotic street life should take a seat in the open air. A peek at the menu reveals salads, pasta, sandwiches and burgers, along with a few main dishes such as baked pork with mashed potatoes, and chicken curry with rice. Not feeling hungry? There are hot and cold drinks, too, and great smoothies plus a range of ice creams and cakes guaranteed to please anyone with a sweet tooth.
