Burma aid relief at Q Bar

Daily Xpress
Published on May 14, 2008

The International Burmese Monks Association are holding a benefit on Saturday night at Q Bar to raise money for victims of Cyclone Nargis.

Admission is Bt800, of which Bt200 goes to the monks' group. Guests will be encouraged to chip in more.

Your entry fee gets you two drinks, and Mandalay Rum Sours will be flowing freely from 10 to 11.

How does it feel?

James Johnson-Perkins' brightly coloured drawings, Lego-inspired sculptures and videos are an original and highly individual take on Western popular culture. His works are at Nospace Gallery, 178 Pridi Phanomyong Soi 20, Sukhumvit 71 (Phra Khanong Road).

For this exhibition, which runs until June 15, he has created a video installation that features pixellated robots dancing to his favourite '80s music.
