Royal family feels for China

Their Majesties the King and Queen, together with HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, yesterday expressed their sympathy and condolences to the people of China over the huge loss of life caused by Sunday's earthquake.
Their Majesties said their thoughts and prayers were with the people of China, especially those who have been directly affected by this tragic calamity. In his written statement, His Majesty extended condolences to the people of China and families of those who perished in the quake. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured. In a separate speech made at the Rajaprachanukhroh Foundation to mark its 45th anniversary, the King stressed the importance of the need to rush aid from the global community at times of crisis. HM said Thailand stood ready to assist any country in need of help. In a handwritten message, Princess Sirindhorn extended her condolences and sympathy for the tragedy in China. A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan on Sunday night, killing more than 12,000 people.
