GMM Grammy 'visualiser' Sasikarn 'Ae' Apichartvorasilp dreams up looks for the stars

Published on April 2, 2008

She's already had a successful career as a singer, actress and model, and now Sasikarn "Ae" Apichartvorasilp is wearing another hat, "visualising" the image a singer should project to successfully blend with his or her album's concept.

"It's based on both my personal taste and my experiences," says Ae, who became involved in image design while working with ID Records, a subsidiary of RS Public, when singer Ruangsak "James" Loychusak was at the controls.

Today, she's a visualiser with GMM Grammy, having followed James from RS to his new job as general manager of MIFA music academy.

"A singer's look depends on his clothes, face and hair. I also need to know who will play in the singer's music video and whe-ther the art direction will be suitable for the artist and music or not."

Ae is currently taking care of James, who recently returned to the scene with his first album on the Grammy label, "Now James".

"James has matured and so have his fans. His new image relates to his music style, which is contemporary pop. He looks sexy and modern in classic shades swinging from black to grey to white.

The slim and sexy Ae, who now wears her hair straight, will be releasing her own album, a jazzy soul offering, later this year, but says she won't be designing her own look.

"I can't do it myself. I tried once and it just didn't work," she grins.
