The best of royals

People are being asked to remember the contributions to arts and culture made by HM the King and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Published on April 2, 2008

Today is Heritage Conservation Day, the birthday of the Princess. It was declared such to recognise the Princess's contributions to culture.

Culture Minister Anusorn Wongwan says everyone should be "grateful and follow in their footsteps".

His Majesty was last year named the "Father of Heritage Conservation". Exhibitions featuring His Majesty's work in the arts and culture will be held in Bangkok and the provinces.

Special activities

The Fine Arts Department will arrange "special activities" to mark the occasion, but not until July, out of respect for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana. She lay in state until her cremation later this year.
