Hey, you're walking on my shirt!
Nick Drury's J Shoes are made from recycled tees. Still no sign of your lost left sock

You think finding a soulmate is difficult? Try finding the perfect pair of shoes. Of course men have it easier - especially when Nick Drury comes up with something called the J Shoe. It's made out of a T-shirt. One design only, and only one size! He picks up a shoe in a shop and checks the size. "It's size 8 here in Thailand - there won't be a size 7 or 6." Even if you love the design, tough luck: J Shoes are one-of-a-kind shoes for walking. "Walk your own way, do your own thing." Thais being creative in fashion, it's reasonable to expect that a cheaper version of J shoes will show up on the market, but Drury chuckles at the notion. He hopes no one copies him. Sports brands like Nike and Puma have come out with customised shoes, but Drury says that no one has produced a casual line like his. Colourful striped designs are the norm in his creations, although there are also designs with an ethnic touch, and big circles in between vertical stripes. But wait a second - they're made from T-shirts? Yes, and the concept is "Lost & Found". Now you know where your missing T-shirt went. Any leftover material from the shirts is used to make bags to carry the shoes. Drury likens it to recycling, putting material of little value into a new product. And speaking of value, J Shoes cost Bt4,000 and up.
