The many faces of Shu
The secrets behind great looks are revealed as the Unmask turns ... 50!
Published on March 16, 2008
Famous Japanese cosmetics brand Shu Uemura recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the product upon which an empire was founded - the humble cleansing oil named Unmask that Uemura, who passed away in December, introduced to Japanese women back in 1967 and which they still swear by today. The event, "Project Purify by Shu Uemura", held at Central World, showed all Shu Uemura's cleansing oils including his latest formula, rich in natural ingredients that promise to thoroughly clean the skin while retaining its moisture balance. Weeramon Purapati, brand manager, believes that a beautiful complexion speaks for itself. "Oil has better properties of diffusion than water or cream. It helps protect the skin, at the same time keeping in the natural moisture. That's why Shu Uemura's cleansing oils are so popular throughout the world," she says. Seven socialites also joined the reception to share their secrets for a healthy complexion. Apart from wearing sun-protection cream, Usamanee Vitayanon stressed her daily routine of removing her makeup thoroughly. Jaturada Thanasopon, Tatim Raksajit, Nat Thephasdin na Ayudhaya, Nattinee and Natprapa Chunhawan agreed - they also cleanse their faces before going to bed. Patra Thephasdin na Ayudhaya, who won the "Beautiful Skin" title at the Miss Thailand Pageant 2007, said she doesn't use many skincare products. "A well-balanced diet is also vital to looking good," she pointed out.
