More 'Love', from critics
"Rak Hang Siam" ("The Love of Siam") swept six out of 11 awards while "Muay Thai Chaiya" grabbed four from the Bangkok Critics Assembly, with both films sharing the award for Best Score for the first time in the competition's history.

"I hope the film will encourage other filmmakers and producers to make more inspiring films," said producer Prachya Pinkaew in accepting the Best Picture honour for "Love of Siam". Director Chookiat Sakveerakul grabbed Best Director and Best Screenplay for the teen romance while Sinjai Plengpanich was rewarded with Best Actress, after she missed out on the honour at the Subhanahongsa Awards. "Love of Siam" also won Best Supporting Actress for Chermal Bunyasak. The fight drama "Muay Thai Chaiya" won Best Art Direction, Akara Amatayakul was named Best Actor and Sontaya Chitmanee picked up the prize for Best Supporting Actor. Chatchai Katenut and Saranee Wongphan from "365 Wan Tam Tid Cheewit Dek Ent" ("Final Score") won the Best Editing award. Chankit Chamnivikaipong from "Ploy" took home Best Cinematography. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to actor Adul Dulyarat, while the HBO Award went to "The Legend of King Naresuan: Pegu's Hostage" for being the highest-grossing film in 2007. The ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Miracle Grand Hotel.
