The winner of three Academy Awards in 1971, "Fiddler" is based on the Broadway musical of the same name.

The story is set in pre-revolution Russia and centres on the life of Tevye (memorably played by Topol), a milkman who is trying to keep his family's traditions in place while marrying off his three eldest daughters. Both the musical and the film spawned a number of hits, including the classics "Sunrise, Sunset" and "If I Were a Rich Man".
